One way to get cell phone deals is to go with a family plan. If you have more than one person in your home using a phone, you can get extra phones and lines added to your plan for very little money. This is not always the best deal, but it can save your family money. All carriers have some form of this, or at least they use to, so see what your current carrier has, or find a better deal with someone else and move on at the end of your contract. If you currently have a family plan but you don't like it, call your carrier and ask them if they can help you save some money on your plan.
You can usually get cell phone deals for less expensive phones if you go with a contract plan. Just don't sign one that you don't want to stick with in the long run just to get the phone. If you get a bad contract that goes on and on and costs a lot, your deal on your phone was not actually a great deal after all. Go with a shorter contract if you can, while still getting your phone of your choice, and also make sure you get the features you want at a price you can afford. Otherwise, you may be better of paying for the phone and finding a prepaid deal to actually save money in the long run.
When choosing features for your cell phone deals, don't pay for anything you won't use. Some companies try to throw everything in but then inflate the price, telling you that the packages saves you money. That may not be the case. If you never text, paying ten dollars a month of unlimited texts is not worth it. However, if you do it a lot, that is a nice deal. If you won't get online on your phone, by all means don't pay for it, no matter how they try to sell it to you. They will try to tell you that you may use it so you better get it, but if you want to save money, stand firm that you don't want it.
